# GrooTalk vs Speak

Speak and GrooTalk share a belief: you learn to speak by speaking. They differ in shape. Speak is a guided course in several languages; GrooTalk is a set of English phone calls with tasks.

## What Speak is known for

- A three-step method: learn phrases, drill them, then talk freely with an AI tutor
- Feedback on pronunciation and phrasing while you talk
- Role-plays for practical situations, and courses in several languages besides English

## What GrooTalk does differently

- Every session is a phone call. You talk, the character answers what you actually said, and nothing needs to be tapped.
- Each call has five tasks, such as ordering, asking a price or giving your name, so you always know what to say next.
- Every sentence you say gets a more natural version, explained in one of 16 languages.
- 26 characters with American and British voices, on a path from A1 to C1.

## Choose Speak if

- You want a guided course that tells you what to study each day
- You are learning Spanish, French, Korean, Japanese or another language it offers
- You like being taught the phrases first, then using them

## Choose GrooTalk if

- You only need English and want to go straight to the conversation
- You like a clear goal for each conversation: five tasks to complete
- You want explanations in your own language, including less common ones

## The short version

Speak is the broader, more course-like product. GrooTalk is narrower: English only, call after call, each with a job to do. Pick by how much structure you want around the talking.
