Delete your GrooTalk account

Delete it in the app

1. Open GrooTalk and go to the Me tab.
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
3. Confirm. The account is deleted right away.

Or ask us to delete it

If you can no longer open the app, email support@grooedu.com from the email address of your account (the Google or Apple address you signed in with) and ask us to delete your GrooTalk account. We delete it within 30 days.

What is deleted

• Your account: the email address, the link to your Google or Apple sign-in, and the list of devices signed in to it.
• The copy of your learning progress and saved phrases kept on our server.

What is kept

• Data stored on your phone (progress, phrasebook, call history, recordings) stays on the phone until you delete the app.
• An anonymous device record and usage counters, not linked to you, are kept to apply free-tier limits and prevent abuse. They are deleted after 12 months of inactivity; you can ask us to delete them sooner.
• Your subscription is managed by the app store you bought it from. Deleting the account does not cancel it: cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
